Herne Bay has a huge range of places to eat and drink, from restaurants and wine bars to cafes and pubs. This page suggests a few of them, but you can check for more information on where to eat in our searchable business directory and check their ratings on Trip Advisor.

Le Petit Poission has a great location on the seafront right by the pier and specialises in locally caught fish and shellfish. The Ship (one of Herne Bay’s oldest pubs) is further along the seafront, towards the Kings Hall, serving food at lunchtime and in the evenings. Dempsey’s Wine Bar is at 85 Mortimer Street. The Shad and The Ghandi are great for curry and there are two Chinese restaurants, The Zhang in the High Street and the Jade Garden in William Street.
Macari’s has two cafes, selling coffee, ice cream and lunchtime snacks. Their cafe on the corner of Central Parade and William Street is one of the oldest in Herne Bay and they have a second at the Bandstand. The Wallflower Cafe overlooking the main carpark, serves homemade locally sourced wholesome food and has occasional tapas nights where you can bring your own wine. Wades Traditional English Tea Rooms is at 36 High Street serving breakfast, lunches and traditional tea and delicious cakes.
Herne Bay also has many take away food outlets including a number of fish and chip shops near the seafront.
