Herne Bay’s newest market has today opened for business at Herne Bay United Church Hall in the High Street and has already proven to be a hit with stall holders and shoppers alike.
Vanessa Hill, a chef and mother of two said “I have had a lot of interest from stallholders and there is a waiting list. I am also in discussions with town centre manager Chris West about starting a food festival during the summer in the old Scruffy Duck car park”.
The hall was bursting with activity when Bayguide visited and there was loads of tasty local treats including wild locally sourced meat, home-laid eggs, cakes, fruit juices, bread as well as home-made pastries, jams and other conserves.
Vanessa has secured the venue for every first and third Saturday each month for a whole year.
