Sue Austen

 

Sue is an independent film and television producer and has made programmes for Channel 4, ITV and the BBC. Her film credits include the medical thriller, PAPER MASK, selected as the closing film in Director’s Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival, and the BAFTA nominated comedy drama DONOVAN QUICK, starring Colin Firth.  Her television productions include NCS, a major BBC1 primetime crime drama starring David Suchet and THE KEY, a period drama about three generations of working women in Glasgow.  Her ITV children’s drama, BEST FRIENDS, based on the best-seller by Jacqueline Wilson, was also nominated for a BAFTA.  She spent five years working for the European MEDIA organisation, selecting film and television projects for development funding and travelling throughout Europe.

Sue was born in Kent and moved to Herne Bay in 1999.  Her current projects include THE WEATHERMAN, a family feature film set in Kent, and documentary feature THE CUBAN WAY.  She is proud to have recently been appointed to the Kent Film and Television Board and to be one of their ambassadors.
